Reply:http://shellcash.com/members/register.ph... is a great way to make extra money. The site will ask you to complete surveys and offers and those companies will then pay you. Unlike most work at home jobs this is one is really legit and actually sends real checks to you at the end of the month. Reply:Despite that one little negative, the problems associated with cash paid surveys are only minor when compared to running a regular business. The main thing is to be organized so you can minimize or avoid any potential problems.

There are lots of excellent cash paid survey opportunities and they ARE a quick and easy way to make money online.
Reply:I remember those days when i almost get mad to find one free survey site that really pay us without charging a fee. The fact is that there are so many survey sites in internet who actually charges a registration fee. I tell you what, run as far as you can, if they ask you money to join their survey site. Any legimate survey site, will not ask you money to join them They actually have to pay us if we join them%26lt;!--some people do not understand this, and they pay and later they suffer and get frustrated. So is there really any Survey site that pays us? The Answer is, Yes. I am personally getting paid by a Survey site and please find the below website and register yourself for free,

The best part is that, after you register and confirm the email sent, you will have a chance to win a car. The fun part is that they pay you money for playing games. And you get sometimes $50 for completing offers. Check out the offers area when you log in, you earn more. I personally get paid and you could trust them--%26gt;since they dont ask you any money, you could give a try, there is nothing to lose. I am sure you will be happy at the end of the week seeing money in your account. Have a great day ahead...!
Reply:Most paid surveys companies have a certain ammount you need to earn before you can redeem your earnings. These paid surveys pay in paypal aswell as money. http://www.techagesite.com/Surveys%20pag...
Reply:There scams...those that say that there not are trying to get you signed up with their particular company.

They request referrals and most times you have to buy or at least sign up for some of their sponsors wares.

This will lead these same sponsors to sell your data to others and you end up with your email mailbox full of crap and more scams.
Reply:cash crate is my favorite but I have sites like the one you want. I review them at http://cashtutor.blogspot.com just read the reviews the last one is exactly what you're looking for
Reply:no no no........they are not all scams

OK i will be honest with you. I do a lot of surveys and other online freelance work such as data entry for private companies and people to lazy to type in their own blog lol to make money. don't expect to get rich though. But i make about an average of $500 a month. Go to my website and blog page for more information which is real since i pre-screen and actually use the services personally.

so go to these 2 sites and wait about a month and you should make a quick 100 bucks for 2 hours a day. and i only deal with sites listed with the BBB to double check they are legit

Reply:Even the 'legitimate' survey sites do NOT pay out daily. It is physically impossible to complete enough surveys to meet the minimum distribution amount every day.

Note: By 'legitimate, I don't mean 'worth your time'. I mean, they actually pay what the SAY they will pay if you COMPLETE the surveys. In most cases, you don't qualify to complete very many surveys. It may take up to 5 min to determine you are not qualified for any given survey.

How do you pull out cash value that's accumulated on a life insurance policy?

I heard that there's a cash value that accumulates on a life insurance policy. If I am the beneficiary, how do I pull out cash on it?

How do you pull out cash value that's accumulated on a life insurance policy?
The owner of the policy has access to the cash value. As the beneficiary you will only have access to the death benefit and will only get that after the insured dies.
Reply:If you are the beneficiary, you can't get access to the cash or loan value, or have any other control of the policy, unless you are also the owner of the policy. If you are not the owner, you have no control over the policy at all.

Note:

ONLY Whole Life, Universal Life, or Limited Payment Life, and their variable counter parts, accumulate cash or loan value.

Although most term policies do not accumulate cash value, some do, but it's minimal. Some term policies will begin to build cash value after a few years, then later on the cash value will begin to decrease. This is to keep the premiums from increasing too fast for older people.

The owner of the policy can also be the beneficiary.

Examples:

A parent owns a life policy on a child, and is the beneficiary.

An adult child is the owner and beneficiary of a policy on a parent.

A grandparent buys a policy on a grandchild, and makes a parent the owner and beneficiary.

A husband is the owner and beneficiary of a policy on the wife.

A wife is the owner and beneficiary of a policy on the husband.

An employer is the owner and beneficiary of a policy on a "key employee."

Partners in a business partnership can own policies on each other, and be the beneficiaries on the policies. This is the way to fund a "Buy-Sell" agreement.

A church member buys a policy, keeps the premiums paid, and makes the corporate church the owner and irrevocable beneficiary. The church has access to the cash, and will receive the benefits at the death of the insured. The insured gets an income tax deduction for the premiums paid each year.

If you are the owner, you can borrow against the cash or loan value, or simply cash the policy in for the total cash value.

If you cash the policy in, that cancels the insurance policy. If a loan is taken against the cash or loan value, it will accumulate interest, just like a loan at a bank.

If there is an outstanding loan at the time of death of the insured, the loan and accumulated interest, if any, will be deducted from the death proceeds.

Rather than taking a loan against the value of a life

insurance policy, the owner of the policy can also use the cash accumulation as collateral for a loan at a bank, assuming the credit is worthy of a bank loan.
Reply:The beneficiary can't pull it out. Only the owner can. And, it's either for cancelling the policy, or as a loan. If it's a loan, they pay interest on it to the insurance company, and if the insured dies with the loan unpaid, the interest and loan are subtracted from the payout.
Reply:Only the owner of the policy is able to access the cash value. The beneficiary has no rights in the policy management.
Reply:In your sitation,I would like to suggest you have a look here.

How do I cash a cheque that is made payable to cash ?

I have received a cheque from the Ulster Bank that has been made payable to "Cash" Unfortunately I am in mainland UK.

How can i cash this cheque ? Can I pay it into my account or can i get it cashed at a particular bank.

Any help would be appreciated.

The cheque is only for £150- !!!

How do I cash a cheque that is made payable to cash ?
endorse it and cash it like it was made out to you!!!
Reply:You could go to the post office and see if they will cash the cheque for you. Be sure to go there with photo ID. There are certain banks which they will not cash cheques from however - one I know is HSBC.
Reply:1. Take it to your bank and draw the cash. Then re deposit it in your account.

2. Go to any bank with proof of identity and cash it.
Reply:You should be able to pay it into your acct.Or the cashier will give you the cash.ulster bank might be owned by nat west.Either way walk into your bank it shouln't be a problem, they will advise
Reply:Take it to a bank.
Reply:Why did they make it out to cash? That sounds strange. Call you bank, explain and ask them.
Reply:As far as I know, you can only "cash" it in the ulster bank, but you should be able to pay it into your own account - take it to your local branch.

Alternatively, there are cheque cashing services throughout the uk that you could use, but they usually charge a % of the cheque value for cashing it (the % charged normally goes down as the value of the cheque goes up, as I recall).
Reply:Send it to me and I will send you the cash as soon as it has cleared my bank, honest

What is the best cash back credit card without groceries/gas?

I have heard that the Amex Blue and Chase Freedom are the best cards to get cash back rewards, but all the calculations I have seen include groceries and gas in their math. I will be buying very little of these items on this card, it will mostly be big purchases like airfare, hotel, car and meals. Which one is overall the best, if you don't include the items with the heavier cash back?

What is the best cash back credit card without groceries/gas?
There's a good chance that the American Express TrueEarnings® Card from Costco and American Express card would be best for you because it pays 2% cash back on travel expenses and 3% cash back at restaurants (as well as 3% back on gasoline).

However, you can use this rewards calculator to see which of many rewards cards will pay you the most for your expected spending profile:

http://www.creditcardtuneup.com/
Reply:Get blue from Amex. I absolutely hate Chase, all their calling centers are based in India, it is really hard to talk to them on the phone.
Reply:based upon my own experience, here is a good resource that I have good luck with and would like to share with.http://creditcard.expertips.info/capital...
Reply:If the charges are for a business you can apply for the Amex Plum business card, the cash back rate is 2%.
Reply:Amex Blue is the best, nothing else compares to it

http://www.bestcreditrates.net
Reply:The last person to answer your questions was correct. Both the American Express Blue cash card and Chase freedom card offers you a great deal. Between those two cards I would go with the Chase Freedom card because yes you can use it for groceries, gas and about 12 or 13 other categories. The cool thing they do is your top three areas that you spend the most in you get 3% cashback while earning 1% on everything else. Another great fact about the card is you get 50.00 for getting approved and there is no annual fee. One thing Chase hides from you is the fact that you only get 3% cash back on the first 600.00 in purchases in your top three categories. After you reach that you only get 1%. More more cool fact is if you wait till you reach 200.00 in cash back, just for waiting you will get another 50.00. Besides those two cards there are a lot of other cards in the Market. Citibank offers some really good cash back cards and so does Discover. Now if you want a Visa or Mastercard then you will not be able to get Discover. My best sugestion would be to go to a credit card site and check out the different categories of cards. Remember sometimes airline cards and hotel cards do charge an annual fee. In my personal experience if you spend less than 20,000 a year on credit card then I would get a credit card that offers cash back VS. some other reward. I say all that because most airlines charge you 25,000-50,000 miles for a ticket and well if you only charge 10,000 a year it would take you between 2-5 years before earning a free ticket. ( Hope you did not have to pay an annual fee, if so just buying the ticket would of been cheaper). Here are some good sites I found. I hope this helps you out. If you really want a hotel card and if you travel on business American Express offers a hilton and starwood card. But the same thing as the airline card, hotels charge you a lot of points to get one free night. One thing you can do is check out the promotion of the cards and get the card just because it offers you a free two night stay or 15,000 airline miles. In that case get the card use it get the free nights and get rid of the card and get a cash back card. I use the Chase Freedom card and love it. So whatever you do the sites below should be able to help. I believe they all have a hotel page, cashback page and airline page so you can make you selection. Afterall you know yourself the best.

Is it a good idea to cash out retirement to make down payment on house?

I have 3 retirements from previous jobs totaling around 50k. I don't plan to cash them all out, but 30k would be handy for a down payment.

Is it a good idea to cash out retirement to make down payment on house?
No. The tax on that money will be much higher than mortgage interest! Plus there are penalties AND taxes for the money cashed out. Probably taxes will be 20% of the 30K, plus a penalty of about 10%. that's $9,000 to get $30,000 and loss of the furture value is immeasurable!

Real estate isn't a good investment right now, and at the rate you will lose, it's not wise to do so. You can borrow against a 401K for a new home, but the money will be due immediately upon termination of employment by you or employer.
Reply:You cant go wrong with purchasing a home, just dont use all your retirment.
Reply:A ROTH IRA might not be a bad source for down payment funds. However traditional IRAs you want to take your withdraws when your income rate is as low as possible(retirement). Not touching the retirement funds also will mean that if you have financial hardships you will have a much bigger emergency cushion.
Reply:No, never use your retirement money to buy a house. Never jeopardize your retirement just so you can buy a house. It should be clear now that housing prices do not always go up and your house should not be looked at as an investment, it should be viewed as only a place to live. You should save money outside of your retirement for a down payment, just be patient and it will happen.
Reply:It is a lousy idea, especially now.
Reply:Touching your retirement accounts should be your last resort and for emergencies only. You may have to postpone the purchase of the house a little, but you will thank yourself when you are retirement age and you have a nice nest egg.

Why is cash budgeting particularly important to a rapidly expanding company?

Risky Rolling, Inc. is a rapidly expanding manufacturer of skateboards that have been modified for use on ski slopes during the off-season. This year's sales are consideraly higher that last years sales, and salses are expected to double next year. The unexpected growth in sales has presented numerous challenges to the company's management team and the stress is really starting to show. Laura Dennan, the company;s president, believes that the management time required to prepare a cash budget should be devoted to other, more pressing matters.

Why is cash budgeting particularly important to a rapidly expanding company?
Cash is the lifeblood of any business. It is simply not possible to pay employees and suppliers that are necessary to run the business without access to cash. If employees and suppliers are not paid, the whole operation can come to a screeching halt whether the company can sell its products or not. Managing cash is a critical business function for any company, but is especially important for a start-up.
Reply:Risky Rolling, Inc.needs acash flow so it dosn't go bust like most rapidly expanding companies.

How many years of cash flow one should summarize to calculate value of a company?

I am in process to valuate my company with purpose to sell part of it.

It looks like valuation using discounted cash flows is one of best methods.

What I do not understand - how many annual free cash flows (with discounts of course) should be summarized in order to determine company value?

How many years of cash flow one should summarize to calculate value of a company?
Ivan,

Plain and simple. Discounted cash flows are just one method of company valuation and there is no rule of thumb for its horizon. Keep in mind that there is a difference between the price of a company and the VALUE of a company. Meaning, a company may be worth 1 million in your hands and 2 million in hands of the competitors. This due to sinergies and other benefits a competitor may be able to generate.

EBITDA (Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and goodwill amortization) is the predominant measure use for valuation. Basically take your operating profit and add back your depreciation. This would equal to the cash generating capacity of the company.

Let the competitors know you are selling and disclose some key information, such as net sales and some margins. Do not give it all away. Tell them you are in the process of selecting a candidate. Once you have several interested parties, sign a confidentiality agreement with two or three top candidates and NOW you may start disclosing key financial indicators.

Best approach is to set a base price of 3 to 5 times EBITDA. The with your prospective buyer, start working in order to see hoy much the company may be worth in THEIR hands. This may increment the company's value. For example, if you own 30% of your niche and your competition another 30%, means having control of 60% allows less investment in advertising (as you're not competing that heavily), more negotiation muscle with suppliers and customers, etc.

By this means both parties will be able to assign a value that will both allow you to sell at a good price, while the buyer gets a good value.

Good luck. Remember being open and honest about your business will pay off. Surprises during due diligence erode much buyer goodwill and price.
Reply:it's a bit tricky

typically people do (1) discount cash flows until some horizon, typically 5 to 10 years out, and (2) compute a "value in perpetuity", assumed to be the value for the period when the company will have stopped growing faster than the rest of the world.

the problem is that, typically, the value coming from part (2) is often large. And for young, fast-growing, cash burning companies, the value from part (2) may be ALL the value, while the value from (1), i.e. the discounted cash flows, may be zero or even negative. At the opposite, for ex-growth companies, all or most of the value may be in phase (1), while there may be little / no "terminal value".

If you've got a company to value that is not listed on the stock market but has competitors that are listed, the best is to:

- do a discounted cash flow valuation exercice for some of these competitors, and adjust the parameters until the value you get, corresponds to their current market value

- then, apply the same parameters to the company you are attempting to value

Hope this helps

What credit card currently has the best cash back rewards program?

I'm looking for a cash back card. Miles, gift certificates, etc don't really interest me. I'm looking for a card to use on literally everything I buy (which I will pay off monthly so interest isn't a deciding factor) and accrue some cash back while I'm at it.

Several people reccomended Chase cards because they had a 5% cash back rate on "everyday purchases", but I wasn't able to find any that had better than 3%. Are there any cards still out there with 5% or better?

I've seen many similar questions to this one on here, but most of them seem dated.

Any suggestions?

What credit card currently has the best cash back rewards program?
The rewards change from month to month for Chase cards. Last year, I got a Chase card with the 5% cash back, now it's 5% cash back for the first 12 months, then 1% cash back after that, so shop around. You can look at bankrate.com for the best deals.
Reply:Check Bankrate.com for the best offers. You can go to their site and do a search.
Reply:CitiBank has some of the best cash back programs.
Reply:Here's a couple sites which allow you to compare credit card rates and determine which is the best for you.

Is it possible to cash a personal check anywhere besides the bank?

I got a check for my birthday, but the bank for the person that sent it is no where near me. Then I don't have enough cash in my account to cash the check through my bank. I don't want to wait for it to clear, where else can I go?

Is it possible to cash a personal check anywhere besides the bank?
Any check cashing service should do it, where they have the big checks cashed here signs. I know walmart cashes payroll checks but I am unsure if they cash personal ones.

I think you need to switch your money to a different bank, because the amount of money in your account should have no bearing on cashing a check imo.
Reply:If you went somewhere that is not a bank they would charge you fees. Why don't you endorse it on the back (sign it) and ask your parents or relatives who has enough money in their bank accounts to cash it for you. Basically they will deposit it in their account and before it clears, they give you cash.
Reply:Well I onced cashed a check near the corner store of my house. Try that! Look for small stores near your neighborhood. Or call 411.
Reply:Some liquor stores cash personal checks....but they charge a percentage of your check.
Reply:Ask a buddy to cash it for you. you will probably get charged even at a liquor store.

Is it possible to pay cash for a Warped Tour ticket?

I have cash for a Warped Tour ticket, but I can't use credit.

Is there any other way I can get one?

Is it possible to pay cash for a Warped Tour ticket?
Yeah you can use cash. You just have to go to a place where they have a ticketmaster office. Usually at Macy's, Kroger, or F.Y.E., but if you go to the Ticketmaster website and put in your city/state/zip you can find where there are retail locations in your area.

Can I cash an auto insurance check written out to my leinholder and myself?

I got in a small accident and was issued a check from my insurance co. My family is really short on cash right now and we were thinking the best thing to do is leave the damage on the vehicle and spend the money on food. Is this possible? Can I cash a check with my Lienholder (who is my bank) on the check aswell?

Can I cash an auto insurance check written out to my leinholder and myself?
Get an estimate for the damages.... take that WITH YOU when you go to your leinholders office.

They should "trustingly" sign off on the check and assume you will get the damages fixed - because you have an estimate!!

Then you're free to spend it on what-so-ever you want to!
Reply:If someone else is on the check, you should not be able to cash it. You could certainly ask your insurance company to issue the payment to you directly. However, chances are that they included the leinholder intentionally to "force" you to fix your car. Many states don't require you to make repairs, but since you have a loan on the car, that damage reduces the value of it, and if you stopped making payments, then the bank would be owed the repair costs too. The insurance company could be forced to pay twice if they didn't put the bank's name on the check.

It can't hurt to ask them to reissue the check, OR, call the bank and ask them if they'll sign the check without repairs being made.
Reply:I've never seen an insurance check issued to anyone other than the car owner. I've never seen the bank listed on it. I would ask the insurance company to reissue the check.
Reply:Yes that is posible. To cash the check into your account. But when it comes to fixing the car or what ever you will have to do that out of your own pocket.
Reply:No, the lienholder has to sign off on it before you can cash it.
Reply:not possible

How to donate non cash items to foreign countries?

I have a ton of baby clothing and articles as well as womens clothing I would like to donate. I could also afford to give books, paper and pens, feminine products, household items etc.... I don't want to give cash and I don't want to give to the local shelter- they already have overstock of donations from local stores.

I would like to give items continually and I am searching for an organization that delivers to foreign countries. Any information is appreciated.

How to donate non cash items to foreign countries?
you should find ways to help an organization pay the cost of sending these items overseas.

We all have problems with volunteering. I have a tax deductible charitable organization and I have to go out and find people in need of help to get other people to donate to us to help these people.

Seeing that you are in a chance to volunteer and there has been many problems there, in the country you want to help, it would be easy for you to get donations from people here in America, by channeling it through an organization that is tax deductible. This way people wont feel they are giving and not getting a benefit for giving.

I know this to be true because people will only give to my organization to help other people in other countries, most of the time, when they are sure the organization is legit.

If you want to get funds then you will have to get with a tax deductible organization like mines so that the communities here will be able to check the organization with the government and get a tax break on their donations. Then you will have to help that organization get the word out to the people so that the people will know they can give to your organization or cause through that organization, and the funds will come in. I know that the people here would pour money to you because they are always looking for ways to send money back to poor countries.

This is our website, (it is still being fixed); http://www.freewebs.com/salaam-ul-muslim...

And this is the government website where you can check that my organization and any other organization is real. http://www.irs.gov/app/pub-78/search.do?...

How do the Cash for your home offers work?

I'm interested in selling my house quickly that's located near Erie, PA. I've heard of the we buy your house for cash offers, but the one's I've checked into haven't actually offered cash. How do these places work %26amp; does anybody have any companies they could refer?

How do the Cash for your home offers work?
They offer a price that's roughly half the value of your property, secure in the knowledge that they can sell it for more. Most of them are legitimate businesses, but they are very rarely a good idea. Unless you're at the absolute end of the trail, you can net more money selling it the normal way.
Reply:I agree with hellosmarty92 most of them are scams.

You could do home equity loan. Perhaps revolving line of credit. I hope it all works out. I feel your pain.
Reply:Some of them are scam.
Reply:I buy homes for cash. First off, the offer we give is below market value so that we can resell the property at a higher value.

Another thing they will do is see if you're willing to let them to assume your loan(s) and pay a portion of your equity. For example, if your house is worth 100k and you owe 60k, they will offer to continue paying your 60k loan and give you 10k cash for the property.

The key for you is to determine your true property's value (including land) and only work with individuals who can pay you cash for what you're willing to let it go for.

Good luck and I wish you well.

Regards

i received a rebate from an item i purchased on black friday, but instead of a check, i recieved a debit mastercard for 60 dollars. I would like to redeem it for cash instead of having the card. one way i know i can do is buy something with the card and return it for cash.

is there an easier way to redeem the cash? like go to the bank and get a cash advance from it?

What is the best way to redeem cash from your rebate card?
Just go to the bank and see if they can do a cash advance of it. It depends on what type of card it is though. But they should be able to tell you!
Reply:Just buy gas or something you buy everyday, and keep the money you would have spent.

How do I cash a check issued by a bank that is not located in my state?

How do I cash a check issued by a bank that is not located in

My publisher issued me an advancement check issued by a bank that is not located in my state, I dont have a bank account or checking account and I need to cash it soon. What can I do? Please help!

How do I cash a check issued by a bank that is not located in my state?
Yikes. I've gone through similar situations.

It may depend on the bank, but invariably, banks make you deposit the check (you may have to open an account). Then you wait a few days for clearance, depending on the check's amount...You might be able to get a provisional credit within 24 hours, e.g. $500 available funds from a $10,000 check.
Reply:try a check cashing company.
Reply:Ask for a money order or official check, and go to a cash checking place....you will need to open a bank account somewhere in order to cash it at an actual bank, unless the bank manager is cool with you....Of course, going to a cash checking place, they will charge you fees for cashing it....if you open a new account at a bank, they will hold the funds for up to 9 business days....so your best bet is to ask your publisher to issue you a cashier's/official check...the difference being that an official check and a regular payroll check is paid for in advance, and should have little issues with availability of the funds.
Reply:go to a payday loan or check cashing company. they'll charge you a fee for cashing your check (usually 1%-5%) either go to 411.com or superpages.com, or call 411, or look in the phone book under check cashing and you can cash it. EASY.

How much spending cash do I need for a 4 day carnival cruise to mexico?

Me and my girlfriend are planning our cruise to mexico , the cruise is already payed for but we dont know how much to bring for spending cash. I know the food is already payed for but we are gonna be drinking. Thanks!!

How much spending cash do I need for a 4 day carnival cruise to mexico?
For the four day cruise on the Paradise, first consider the charges that are going to end up on your Sail %26amp; Sign card. You'll have tips of $10 per person per day, so they'll either take a cash deposit when you check in, or attach charges to a debit or credit card.

Carnival uses a cashless system, so theoretically, you won't need any cash, even for drinkiing. They will sign this to your card. Drinks are decently priced, but if you are going to be drinking heavily, this could amount to a hundred per person each day.

Keep in mind you are allowed to bring one bottle of wine per person onto the ship, and there will be one night where drinks are served free at the Captains cocktail party.

If you're gambling, you'll need cash, however you can also obtain it by using your Sign %26amp; Sail card at the slot machines for a fee.

Depending on what you're doing in Mexico, you may need some cash for the bars and souvenier shops. Many of them are Cash Only.

Finally, room service is free (and delicious!) on the ship, however it's courteous and expected to tip the person bringing you the food. I suggest one or two dollars. We bring about $20 for room service throughout our cruises.

Have a great time!
Reply:One thing you may consider is the new tax incentive by Mexico's government that started in June for Americans traveling to Mexico by air or sea. You can get a VAT tax (sales tax) refund on goods bought in Mexico excluding food and hotel which can be redeemed at special kiosks.
Reply:I was thinking about $1000 minimum. You have to figure the drinks (which are not cheap) the gambling, if you do it, the souvenirs once you get to port and any incidentals, you would be safe bringing minimum of $1000.00 but probably a little closer to $1400 would be what I would bring. A lot of places do take debit cards at the destination cities as well as travelers checks too. Have fun and remember whatever you don't spend you can bring home! :)
Reply:Figure $100.00 per person, per day. About $800.00

How can I cash a stimulus check in someone elses name?

My ex renter/friend left town, leaving me with damage to my property. I received his stimulus check in the mail, and I was wondering how I could cash this to get reimbursed?

How can I cash a stimulus check in someone elses name?
You can't. That would be fraud. Checks can only be cashed by the person whose name is on the check.

You can sue your friend for damages, but you can't legally commit a fraud or theft in order to compensate yourself.
Reply:lol...go ahead, but i hope it's worth going to jail over it.. You can steal other people's money.. It's fraud plus, you can go to jail for opening his mail...
Reply:You can't. It's illegal. If he is willing he could endorse it to you but some banks wouldn't even accept it then.,
Reply:That would be a felony and then some.

You would have to go through the legal system.

Contact a lawyer.

I can't believe you'd even ask that here.
Reply:You can't. If you were to deposit the check somehow, or get it cashed, this means that the person doing the depositing or cashing is not doing their job. The government will not honor checks that are deposited into or cashed off of accounts that are not owned by the same name that the check is made out to. Your bank would turn around and take the amount of the check out of your account, and this would cause you problems with your account. It is just not worth it.
Reply:You cannot.

Doing so would be a federal offense.
Reply:fake a sign then deposit it in your account. You better have permission. Lawyers will charge you about 5000 dollars for the case... not a good investment
Reply:You could go to jail especially if he checks on the refund check and it is determined that it has been cashed. The IRS don't play. You may want to ask the ex friend to pay you. Go with him/her to cash the check and get your money or take them to small claims court. Its not worth your freedom.

How do I get cash back at closing, when purchasing a home?

How do I get cash back at closing, when purchasing a home?

I am a first time buyer, and I have heard a lot about cash back @ closing, does anyone know what I need to do to get cash back to make improvements to the home?

How do I get cash back at closing, when purchasing a home?
No No No that is not right......Here this is it....

Say asking price is 130.000.00. So you ask the owner to pay all closing costs and 2 or 3 points.(depending on credit)

At the point of close the total cost of your loan that you sign for will be x amount 130.because they are paying your closing fees and what every you ask them too. The mortgage company already has set cost of 130. so when you sign for your mortgage the cost of those things will be credit to you. The credit is in a check..

Now, not many mortgage company's do this so shop for a mortgage company that will do 100% financing or 10% cost of loan. With your cost being from the seller..

I would not use a Realtor either...Use a broker they really have to earn your money and they will do a better job that has been my experience..
Reply:Cash back is simple. If cost is $300k for home, you put offer in for $350k as long as house appraises for that much. In the offer that is presented you ask the seller for a Credit of 50k. That's how it works. Make sure you have an agent so you are protected.

Reply:The FHA 203(k) Rehab Loan allows you to borrow more than the purchase price in order to make improvements to the home.

http://www.fhatoday.com/programs.htm

The FHA 203(k) loan is available through most FHA lenders.

When you get cash back when purchasing a home, you are actually increasing your loan amount to cover the amount of your rebate, or money returned to you. It can be written into the contract of sale in many ways.

Having the seller pay your closing costs, or returning a portion of the sale price to you from the proceeds he receives is one way to receive cash back at closing. Some mortgages do not allow this, so you must find a mortgage or combination of loans that will allow it. And, for your protection, consult an attorney before signing such a contract.

Sometimes, having the seller rebate money back to you at closing means you will be purchasing the home at a higher price than you would normally if no money was returned to you. You have to determine if, in the long run, this is in your best interest.
Reply:It is simply a matter of your credits being higher than your liabilities on the settlement statement. i.e. if you got 100% financing and had made a 10% deposit, you would get the 10% back less closing costs. You could negotiate for the seller to pay all of the closing costs. The seller could credit you money at closing toward your costs. Your Realtor could rebate you part of her commission. The title company could rebate you part of the title premium. The seller could rebate you part of the purchase price at closing. You could get a construction to permanent loan where the money for repairs is dolled out by the lender as you show that work is taking place.

Whatever you are thinking about doing, run it by your lender, as they have the final word on what is acceptable to them.

Where can I cash an international money order without a bank account?

I've recently started ebaying and decided to expand my payment options to USPS Money Orders, however I just got two "MoneyGram" International M.O.'s, one is from WalMart and the other says Lucky.

Where can I cash these if I don't have a bank account?

Where can I cash an international money order without a bank account?
George you might find some cash and pay, but the chunk of change they charge may not make it worth while. I suggest you open a bank account, it could be a savings account for $5 bucks! My concern for you is - are those money order legit? Make sure they are real checks and not some scam. I wouldn't spend any of that money until you know for sure.

How much cash do you have hidden to use in an emergency?

I bet that sometime in the next few years there will be a local, regional or national emergency that will make it difficult or almost impossible to pay for things for a few days using a Credit or Debit Card.

Who knows what will happen. Maybe a banking failure, an Internet crash, weather disaster or a terrorist attack that is so bad the banking system fails. In this case having some cash around would be very nice.

How much cash do you have to deal with such an emergncy?

How much cash do you have hidden to use in an emergency?
i keep around €100 stashed, but I suppose its more for a rainy day than an emergency, as €100 isn't oing to get you very far in an emergency! Plus its topped up every couple of months because it has been dipped into!

On the other side I think, god forbid, there were a disaster of the magnitude you descibe, cash would be the least of our worries. Better to keep a stock of water, or tinned food probably? As for stashing a lot, well, I enjoy the interest my bank pays me, and all it takes is for one savvy thief to take away all your hard earned 'emergency' cash.
Reply:I always have cash on hand due to having a business and me wanting to be prepared for ANY emergency.

We keep about $10,000 on hand. Hiding, and growing because I add to it. The key to having money lying around and having it grow is to simply keep adding to it and NOT take from it.
Reply:It is recommended that you have a sum equal to about 6mos. of your annual salary on hand in cash for emergency times. It sounds like a lot, but just think when that emergency comes and you are standing w/ only $500... do you really thing a gigantic event like you suggest will be sorted out in a day?
Reply:You cant live your life in fear. Its always good to leave a little cash (maybe 500$)around for emergencies, or things you cant use a card for. But the odds of something happening like you mentioned are very remote. And if you live your life in fear always thinking about that, you are letting the terrorists win.

How much cash are you allowed to carry with you on an airplane trip overseas?

What is the limit for the amount much cash a person can carry with them on an airplane trip overseas? What would happen if someone tried to take a large amount of cash with them on an airplane?

How much cash are you allowed to carry with you on an airplane trip overseas?
No problem with the airline!

But yes with Customs:

As from 15 June 2007, people travelling directly to or from a country outside the European Union (EU)*and carrying 10,000 euros or more (or the equivalent amount in another currency) will be required to declare the cash to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) at the place of their departure from, or arrival in, the United Kingdom.( “Cash” not only means currency notes and coins but also bankers’ drafts and cheques of any kind, including travellers’ cheques.) This measure will apply in all EU countries having been introduced under European Parliament and Council Regulation No1889/2005 to help combat money laundering.

Forms on which to make the declaration will be available at ports and airports. Travellers will be liable to financial penalties if they fail to comply with the obligation to declare or provide incomplete or incorrect information.

There will still be no requirement to declare cash for people travelling to or from another EU country.

HMRC officers will not detain properly declared cash if they have no reason to doubt its legitimacy. However, as with cash in amounts of £1000 or more found at any place within the UK, under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 (POCA), it may be seized if an officer has reasonable grounds to suspect it is either the proceeds of, or is intended for use in, unlawful conduct.

======================================...

Currency

There is no limit to the amount of currency you can bring in or out of Australia. However, you must declare amounts of A$10,000 or more in Australian currency or foreign equivalent. If asked by Customs you must also fill in a Bearer Negotiable Instruments (BNI) form if you're carrying promissory notes, travellers cheques, personal cheques, money orders or postal orders.

======================================...

10. How much cash may I bring with me for my trip?

There is no limit on the total amount of money or monetary instruments that may be brought into or taken out of the United States. However, if you transport or cause to be transported, more than $10,000 in monetary instruments on any occasion into or out of the United States, or if you receive more than that amount, in behalf of someone else and then transport it, you must file a Customs Form 4790 with U.S. Customs. Failure to comply can result in civil and criminal penalties, including seizure of the currency or monetary instruments. Monetary instruments include U.S. or foreign coins, currency, traveler's checks, money orders, and negotiable instruments or investment securities in bearer form are all considered when determining the total $10,000 reporting requirement.
Reply:As far as I know, no airline has any rules against taking cash of any amount onto an airplane (although you may find that in the event of theft or accident, it won't be insured).

Where you have a problem is with the law and/or customs in the countries you fly to/from:

Some police get suspicious of anyone with a lot of cash (could be crime, money laundering, etc) whether you're on an airplane or on the street.

Some countries have currency restrictions that state it is illegal to carry large sums into, or out of, their country.

Some countries, it is illegal to carry any amount of their currency

Again, this is independent of your mode of travel - plane, boat, car...

Check the embassy/customs webpages of where you will be flying to/from or your travel agent. Contravening currency regulations can be serious! Turkmenistan, for example, is a 10 year prison sentence
Reply:well the obvious would happen don't you think, the best way is to get travelers checks or American express checks that way its secure, the most on a person i had about 2000 euros, so maybe more or if you mix it up 2000 euros, 1000 us dollars, or travelers checks, but send the rest through the mail money order, or send travelers check to the place your going, or have a person stay here one person goes to where ever go to western union then send the money that way and have the other person meet you at the said location
Reply:USD $10,000

How do you sell or cash in a municipal bond?

I found a municipal bond that matured in 2007 and belonged to my grandfather, worth $5,000 plus interest. Is the certificate itself worth cash? If so, how do you go about cashing it? Do I need to contact a broker?

How do you sell or cash in a municipal bond?
You have your choice - take it to a broker/dealer, or send it to the Trustee whose name appears on the front of the bond.

If your going to use the Trustee, send them a copy and they will get you started. You will have to surrender the bond when all the paper work as been gathered.

They will tell you what paper work you will need, and in most cases have some of it availabe )brokerage firms donot have the required documents you will need), some you will have to get from the municipality in which you grandfather died.
Reply:It is not yours - is your grandfather deceased?

How to we cash out stocks that my siblings and I inherited?

My siblings and I inherited stocks (5 of us listed as beneficiaries). How do we cash them out? Do we each need to open an account and cash them out or can we have the money cashed out in a lump and put into the estate?

How to we cash out stocks that my siblings and I inherited?
Good answer from Spock. If all the siblings want the cash, it can all be sold and distributed. Otherwise, the shares have to be divided first, then sold.

If these shares were held outside of a qualified plan, you also get the benefit of step-up in cost basis, meaning you won't have to pay taxes on the sale (unless they appreciate significantly after taking possession).
Reply:where are they now?

if they are in a brokerage account [as was so when I handled my mother's estate], the Executor or Personal Representative just submits a certified copy of their appointment papers to the broker [likely with death certificate] and retitles the account into the name of the estate, then sells the stocks out of the estate.

for actual certificates, the Exec or PR should probably open a brokerage account in the name of the estate and deposit the shares in the account ... after which they can be sold.
Reply:The stocks should go straight into a trust account, sell them from there, and then the trust can pay the taxes, then take payouts to each beneficiary, this will usually require a tax professional is your aren't sure what you are doing. If you are interested in stocks or what to do with the ones you have, you should check out the folks at www.thewallstreethunter.com they have a good track record for picking stocks and also offer good insights into whats happening every day on wall street.

How should cash received as deposit by a univesity from students be treated accounting wise?

It should go to unearned revenue and cash account. But should it go to a restricted cash account? Can the university mingle the funds in a general cash account? CPA only please....Thank you.

How should cash received as deposit by a univesity from students be treated accounting wise?
If you consider it as an unearned revenue, then the university may definitely use it as general cash.

If it's a deposit that can be redeemed or withdrawn, then that's the only time you can take the conservative route of placing a restriction on the use.

How can I take cash out of my credit card without using a cash advance?

I need $3000 cash quick, and I have a $3000 credit limit but a $600 cash advance limit. I also dont wanna pay the cash advance fees?

How can I take cash out of my credit card without using a cash advance?
You can't. Even if you make a purchase and get cash back at the time of the purchase, it's considered a cash advance. Some cards waive the cash advance fee if you get it at the time of a purchase, but you still accrue intereste charges from that point. You would also not be able to get $3000 cash on a credit card with a $3000 credit limit. There is no way around that.
Reply:You can't.
Reply:Paypal. Get a friend with paypal and send them the amount of money you want which will be charged to your credit card then they can just withdraw it from their bank acct and give it to you.
Reply:go to local casino if you have one buy gift certificates then cash them in
Reply:your S.O.L.
Reply:One of my cards sends me purchase checks. They look like real checks and you can make them out to yourself to deposit or cash and you pay only the purchase APR -- no cash advance fees or APR.

See if your credit card does this.

How do cash back credit card really work?

I want a Chase Freedom credit card because it offers cash back and I tend to be spendy. How does cash back program really work? I mean do you have to spend a certain amount to get cash back or what's the deal?

How do cash back credit card really work?
Yes, some credit cards you earn points everytime you use it. For every $1 retail, you earn 1 point (balance transfer or direct deposit are not eligible). Sometimes you earn 1% cash back, other credit cards you may earn 5%. Each card works differently. You can only redeem points starting at 2500 points with BOA. To redeem the points for cash, just call their customer service.

When you return the merchandize, the points will be deducted from your account.
Reply:The cashback mentioned in the reward cards is usually the upper limit. The amount of cash that you will earn will always be less than the mentioned limit unless your spending levels with the credit card are very high. So, it will be better to have a reward card with high cashback limit.

Credit card companies have exclusive tie-ups with stores, vendors, filling stations, airlines, courier companies, hotels, resorts, hospitals etc. To get the benefits of rewards the spending has to be done at those very places mentioned in the credit card, otherwise the rewards might not get credited to your account.

Chase Business Rebate Card gives a 3% Cash Back for purchases at restaurants, gas stations, office supply stores, building supply stores, hardware and home improvement stores and 1% Cash Back on all other purchases.

Chase Free Cash Rewards(SM) Visa® Card gives a $25 check or a $25 gift card/certificate from participating merchants for every 2,500 points earned. Apply online at: http://www.credit-card-gallery.com/Chase...
Reply:Yes, you can earn up to 3% cash back on purchases. And usually you will need to have made at least $50 in rewards to get cash back. Once you have done that you can request a check to be sent you your house. That's pretty much it. To apply for the Chase Freedom credit card or other cash back credit cards see http://www.ccvault.com/credit_cards/cash...

How do I cash a tax refund for someone in prison?

My relative is in prison and received a tax refund for last year, but I am not able to cash it for him. What do I need to do to cash it? I do not want to get a power of attorney since this can be costly, so what alternative is there? Thanks!

How do I cash a tax refund for someone in prison?
He'll have to endorse the check. And you may still need P of A to deposit it to your account. A simple P of A should not cost you much, if anything. The prison's admin office can often arrange for that.

What happens if I cash a cashiers check at a check cashing company and later the check bouces?

I take a cashiers check to a check cashing company and they cash the check, only taking my id information. later that week if the check were to bounce, who is left reponsible? Does the check cashing company file it on your credit report, or just attempt to collect debt from the person whom cashed the check?

What happens if I cash a cashiers check at a check cashing company and later the check bouces?
Cashiers checks don't bounce. They are just as good as cash.
Reply:the only way a "cashiers check" is going to bounce is if its a forgery, otherwise they are just like cash.so,if you indeed did cash a forged cashiers check, you are in for a **** load of legal problems, starting with arrest for forgery, passing a counterfeit document, just for starters, not to mention all of the monetary fees they will recoup from you.Passing bad checks is a felony, that means jail time in prison, not county jail with the drunk drivers and punks.in short, the check cashing co is coming for YOU to make amends.
Reply:That is correct. You are responsible. They get your driver's license number so that they can find you and serve you with a judgment (if they decide to go that route). I'm sure it all depends on the amount of the check.
Reply:YOU would be responsible because YOU cashed the check. They check ID for a reason.
