If I had the cash, could I buy an A-10 Attack aircraft?

If so, where? I would prefer a fully functional, new aircraft. Could I also purchase ammunition, missles, bombs? Remember, cash is not an issue, but I want a legal purchase as a private citizen of the USA.

And, no, I won't be killing people with it.

The closest you could get with ease would be to buy a retired soviet bloc military jet...

They are more affordable than most people think, this one is listed at 425,000. I suggest offering 350,000.

Reply:Anyone who actually states, "cash is not an issue" -doesn't have the cash.

Anyway, no you can't. A10s are still in the inventory, and the decommissioned models down at Davis-Monthan AFB AZ are used for parts. If you could, the gun would be decommissioned (not removed as its weight is key to the CG of the jet).

Be real. It's illegal to own ordnance in the USA without a Federal License-which you are unlikely to get.
Reply:It is possible to buy decommissioned military aircraft sometimes, but they always remove all the avionics and weaponry. You can't buy that stuff.

There's some guy here who bought a bunch of old Soviet MiGs and stuff, rents them out to rich people.
Reply:NO.

Most USA military aircrafts are destroyed instead of being sold. That way it doesn't fall into enemy's hand somewhere down the line.

Good Luck...
Reply:No, you cannot purchase combat aircraft in the United States.
Reply:Possibly I see privately owned military jets often at my local airport
Reply:No, no and no.
