What is the largest check you can cash at a bank?

I am going to receive a large check from the sale of a home. I want to convert this to cash and not keep the funds in the bank. How does one cash a check, when the amount is in the range of $100,000 to $200,000

How does one do this?

What is the largest check you can cash at a bank?
The bank should have it, but go to the bank couple days before and they will order the money to be there.
Reply:When I worked as a teller we were only allowed to give out so much money at a time, but you may need to talk with your bank to see how they would want to handle that. Most of the time when I had someone taking a large sum of money out of one account to another would would cut them a check.
