Is there any way to cash a crossed postal order without putting it into the bank?

Could really do with the cash today and apparently it takes 3 days for it to clear - is this right?? Anyone have any suggestions?

IF its a PO, then go to the post office with id.
Reply:The time you take to wait for this answer was all that you needed to open a Post office savings account and credit the postal order to that Account and draw the money from there!. Learn to respect procedures. They are made for your own safety. Otherwise some one else could steal that postal order and encash it.
Reply:Take it to the post office. Um, I sound like an echo.

Post office... post office... post offi...
Reply:call the post office network and they have the postal order section which they can you give an address for with all the info.
Reply:Yeah, timsdad is dead right i think
Reply:check converters and some news agents if you have id and pay about 8% look for the signs i think they are yellow !
Reply:The idea of crossing a Postal Order is to help prevent theft and fraud, and for this reason it should be cashed through a bank account, just the same as a crossed cheque. These procedures are in place to protect us. (But I do think the answer re cashing at a PO with ID, is correct too!)
Reply:No there is no way out. If also if you try any it is illegal so beware
Reply:According to the post office ini the UK
