My fiance went to Iraq before cashing a check. Is there any way i could cash it?

My fiance received a check in the mail before he got deployed to Iraq. He didn't want to leave our daughter and I without money so he was going to cash it before he left. He signed it and was heading to cash it but somewhere between home and the bank he lost it. A few months later I found it and we need the money, is there anyplace I can go to cash it? Would i be able to deposit it in my bank?

If he signed it, you should just be able to sign your name under his name and deposit it into your account. There is no reason they wouldn't allow you to deposit it unless he restricted it when he endorsed it (i.e. For Deposit Into..(his)..Account Only).
Reply:Sure as long as he signed it - you just sign the back and deposit it.
Reply:If he signed the check, you should be able to take it to your bank and deposit it.
Reply:You will need to deposit it into his bank account %26amp; have him transfer it to you. When he comes home open a bank account in both your names so next time you can bank it into your joint account %26amp; then you can withdraw it once it has cleared.
Reply:if he has already signed it you can deposit it at your bank. Once he has signed the check it becomes similar to cash and anyone can cash it.
