How do I get cash from a gift credit card?

I got a Simon Malls gift credit card for Christmas, and it would be ten times more useful if I could somehow just change the danged thing into cash. Is there some easy way to do this?

How do I get cash from a gift credit card?
no.. most of those things come with fine print saying you can't do JUST THAT
Reply:Some of them, however, allow you to do so if you are willing to pay a rather hefty "cash redemption fee". The better thing to do is to buy yourself a gift certificate for a store you know you are going to shop at regularly for the full value of the gift credit card and simply discard the gift credit card since there are more fees associated with those than you can shake a stick at if you fail to use the card within a specified period of time or call too many times to the customer service number.

The previous suggestion of buying things with the card to take back the next day won't work, though. Credit card companies all require that returns for goods or services purchased originally with a credit card must go back on the credit card. (There might be exceptions for particularly low-value purchases, but I don't think there are, and that might be at the discretion of the retailer. Certainly, they don't have to give you cash back on a credit purchase.) Also, since retailers do pay a fee for the use of credit card transactions, its not in their best interest to be out the fee by giving you the cash back instead.
Reply:You can sell it on eBay, but of course there are the eBay fees. Or, if you are really desperate and I don't know if this will even work, but buy things from there and take them back the next day untouched with the receipt and I am sure they will give cash back to you.
