How do I cash a check without a bank account?
Your best option on the personal check is to go to a branch of the bank it is written from if that is possible.

Second, open an account somewhere, though you will have to wait a few days for the funds to be available.

Third, the check cashing services, if no other option, they do charge about 2 to 5% fee for cashing the checks.
Reply:Similar to goodlionvic's answer, I would recommend getting a Green Dot Visa/MC and you can have direct deposit set to that card.
Reply:Ask some one to cash it for you ,that you trust-will take a couple of days but...
Reply:there should be places where you can get it cashed at. Try the super markets around you or go to the place where the checks were issued from. All you have to do is show ID and or have you thumb get finger printed at the bank. The supermarkets needs ID.
Reply:Take a minimum of two pieces of picture id and go to a branch of the bank which the chreck is drawn on.

They should be obliged to cash it.

Also after they have cashed the check, then you may also cash your income tax return at the same bank.

If you have trouble, simply deposit the checks as the start of an account at any bank you choose.
Reply:get a prepaid visa account from westernunion.com

and have it direct deposited
Reply:Govt. checks may be cashed free of charge at any bank, personal checks...hmm, do you have a friendly store owner who knows you well, they will sometimes cash checks for trusted patrons, if not last resort, be ready to pay a stiff service charge, check cashing services, or through a trusted friend. Good luck, the check is in the mail...LOL.
Reply:If you go the bank the check was from, I don't think you'll even have to pay a fee. But you probably will need two forms of ID...like a driver's license and a credit card (or something else with your name and address on it).
Reply:dude get a bank account.
Reply:You can open a bank account at Wells Fargo with $100.00

Reply:Go to a check cashing place; they do, however charge you for cashing it. Or use the money to open a bank account.
Reply:Go to the bank that issued the check from your relative's account. They will cash it with ID and a thumb print. For the income tax refund, you have to go to a check cashing place. Why don't you open up a checking account?
Reply:You can go to a check cashing place or grocery store and cash it -- for a fee. You can also go to the bank the check is drawn on.
Reply:'Checks Cashed' or Western Union
Reply:the check you got from a relative, go to the bank that your relative banks with...so if the check says Bank Of America on it go there or Wells Fargo then go there etc. etc. etc. as for your Tax return go open a bank account for that and use that as your deposit...either that or pay a fee to cash it.
Reply:If you can take your check to the same branch your relative uses.....they won't charge you a fee.

In all other cases....banks will cash checks for you, but they charge a small fee...usually 1 - 3 percent of the amount of the check.

Tax returns are easily cashed at any bank. Some stores will cash them, too.
Reply:Go to USBank and sign up for a bank account. They do not do a check on your previous accounts, if you cant get an account because of bad checks or whatever. Really good bank to work with.
Reply:You should be able to open a bank account by depositing the government check into the new account. There might be a waiting period of a day or two before you can cash the personal check (or withdraw funds )against the deposited tax refund check. Otherwise - you may have to produce your driver's license as proof of identity in addition to posting a credit card #. You may also be able to purchase a bank check or money order with your tax refund check.
Reply:You can sign both to someone you might know well enough into their account. Maybe take out to Micky D's for the trouble - I'd recommend B.K. myself.

Or check the web for the nearest branch of the bank it's drawn on. Sometimes they have affiliate banks.

You might think about opening an account if you deposit your return if not, like most of us, you owe it all by now!

( Hope this helps. )
Reply:The bank the check is drawn on must honor the check. I have had them try to say no, they won't cash my check without an account there, but I had them call the manager over. They cannot say a check made out by one of their customers isn't good, so I got my money!!!

You could sign the IRS check over to a family member for them to cash for you.
Reply:Go to the bank the check is written on the name should be on the check it may cost you a fee depending on the banks policy. Also, check cashing places will cash checks for you that charge a fee or percentage for the service the post office will cash your income tax check I believe.
Reply:money mart something like that.
Reply:go to money mart
Reply:open an account with it check cashing places, customer service in groceriy stores or you can take it to the bank it was issued from, many banks have branches across the us and they will not charge you.
Reply:you can present your cheque at a bank anyway as long as you have some id
Reply:If you go to the bank where the check is drawn on (the bank on the check), for a fee they will cash the check for you.
